Wayside Theatre Announces the 2011-2012 Season

Wayside Theatre Artistic Director, Warner Crocker announced today Wayside Theatre's 50th Season Productions for the 2011-2012 Season, A Season of Magical Memories Made Just For You..

According to Crocker, "Wayside Theatre's continues the great tradition of opening the Season in June with a musical and continues to bring year round theatre to the Shenandoah Valley. Wayside Theatre will offer six plays this season.

Our 50th Anniversary Season (2011-2012) will run from June 4, 2011 through April 28, 2012. The Season opens with the musical, Reunion, A Musical Epic in Miniature, chronicling our fight to save the union; continuing with the wacky comedy by the late Virginian Playwright, Larry Shue, The Nerd; follow by the drama-comedy, Steel Magnolias, and the Fall mystery, The Woman in Black. After the New Year, Wayside Theatre presents the Sanders Family back with their amazing blend of gospel and bluegrass music in the musical, Smoke on the Mountain, which will open January 28th and running through February into mid March 2012. We will close out the season with the wacky, weird comedy, Greater Tuna with performances March, 24 through April 28, 2012.

Our 2011 Holiday production will be the world premiere of Glory Bea! A Shenandoah Valley Christmas Story, about a Shenandoah Valley family struggle to retain the Christmas Spirit as the holiday approach, which is not part of the regular subscription season.

Wayside Theatre is the oldest professional theatre in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and celebrates its 50th "Golden Anniversary" Season of presenting high quality, professional entertainment in the 2011-2012 Season.
