In keeping with the longstanding policy of providing 10% of tickets free of charge, Virginia Rep is delighted to announce two programs to streamline our free community tickets program.

Freeview Lottery- Virginia Rep is giving away 50 free seats to every Wednesday Preview of the Signature Season. Patrons can enter their name to win two seats per person for the 7:00 PM performance by registering online at www.virginiarep.org. Registration will open the previous Wednesday at 2:00 PM. Winners will be notified by Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. Any patrons who do not use their tickets will not be able to enter the lottery for future shows.

The first Freeview Lottery will be for 1776, The Musical, and will open for registration on September 21. A preview is a full performance prior to opening night of a new production. The preview is presented with the same level of preparation as opening night, but audience participation creates a special opportunity for the creative team to gauge audience response before the theatre welcomes the press.

Community Tickets Grant Program- As part of their commitment to make theatre available to all children and adults, Virginia Rep will launch a citywide grant program to expand free and discounted ticket access to those in the community for whom the price of a ticket is a barrier.

This program will build on and replace the Tickets for Kids program and expand our longstanding policy of offering 10% of tickets free of charge. Virginia Rep invites nonprofit community organizations to apply for blocks of tickets for groups that they serve. These tickets are for specific performances only. We will keep a waiting list of applicants who would like to be considered for tickets but cannot attend on the designated dates.

 Who Can Apply

Nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organizations that serve individuals in the Richmond Metro area who do not have the resources to otherwise attend a show. Each organization can apply for up to 3 performances. Ticket requests can be made for up to 50 tickets.

 How to Apply

Online applications are available bit.ly/CommunityTix and due on September 15 and January 15. The ? application is very simple and based on the organization's mission, the individuals served, and ability to fully utilize donated tickets. Applicants will be notified about the status of their application at least 3 weeks prior to the performance date, with details on how and when to pick up the tickets.

For applications, rules and regulations, and performance dates visit www.virginiarep.org.
