INSTAPLAY Comes to CSz Richmond Theater, 9/2-14

InstaPlay is a new art form, never before seen here in Richmond. This talented troupe has been rehearsing the skills required to improvise a full length play for nearly a year under the tutelage of AMY BERLIN, an award-winning, Richmond-based improviser, actress, director, and playwright. In a risky and bold move, Amy has formed a troupe combining experienced improvisers with classically trained actors and actresses to create a group able to instantly create new plays on the spot. These plays may be comedies, dramas, mysteries, or a mixture, but they all will contain the wit and immediacy of improvisation and the honesty and emotions of a scripted play.

InstaPlay is the following artists:

Actors/Actresses:
Amy Berlin (Style Weekly Artist to Watch and Richmond Times Dispatch Phoebe Nominee)
Ray Green (Garnered rave reviews in the critical and audience smash hit Leaving Iowa at CAT Theatre)
Starlet Knight (Musician and singer currently appearing in Hair at Firehouse Theatre)
Emily Turner (A certified fight choreographer who has wowed audiences in such shows as Home Fires and Play On! at CAT Theatre)
Ingrid Young (Opera singer who has appeared in Virginia Rep's Music Man, Sound of Music, and My Fair Lady)

Improvisers:
Jeff Clevenger (Founder of Take 5 Comedy Troupe, member of ComedySportz, over twenty years experience as improv teacher/coach)
Betzi Hekman (Trained in Chicago, New York, and Richmond at iO South; UCB, ComedySportz, and RCC; toured the country with her stand-up act; former member of West End Comedy)
