The Generic Theater, which is located in downtown Norfolk, VA, will present the world premiere of the play The (former) Prostitutes Potluck Supper, starting Oct. 9.

The play centers around the lives of six friends who were, at one point in their lives, prostitutes, until an unexpected guest disrupts their monthly potluck supper and spells a dramatic recipe for disaster.

The cast will include Desirée Henry as Miss Lydia, Rona Hyman as Ethel, Rico Robinson as Norma/Norman, Amy E. Mahon as Ruth, Crizti Walsh as Cindy, Courtney-Giselle Cook as Shantai and Anastasia Mitroshchuk as Mary.

The (former) Prostitutes Potluck Supper is written by Frankie Little Hardin, and received its first staged reading as part of Dezart Performs in Palm Springs 2014, and its second workshop reading at Generic Theater.

Philip Odango will direct the production. Odango's directing credits include 'Night, Mother, Agnes of God, Oleanna, The Mercy Seat and Roald Dahl's The Witches.

The creative team includes Terry Jernigan (scenic design and set dressing), Dean Perry (costume design), Robin Martineau (properties), Denise Henock (properties), Jon Hatton (food design), Chad Stem (fight choreography), Chip Fortier (sponsorships), Brooke Kampney (production assistant), Debbie Garrick (program design). The management team includes Quinton Holmes (assistant director), April Shannon Threet (co-stage manager), Jeannette Rainey (co-stage manager/producer) and Garney Johnson (co-producer).

Performances are currently scheduled to run Oct. 9 - 11, and Oct. 22 - Nov. 8, 2015. Ticket information is available at www.generictheater.org.
