THROUGH THEIR EYES is a new ensemble generated performance exploring what it means to be a victim and how to become a survivor within the framework of a series of monologues adapted from the novel by Raymond Goode. Published in 2012, Goode's book has sold over 15,000 copies worldwide. Firehouse's stage production of the book is being directed by Addie Barnhart and Emma Givens.
Goode's short stories delve into the minds of the victims, perpetrators, and bystanders of violence. According to Goode, he was inspired to write these pieces so readers could make the transition from being "on the outside looking in, to the inside looking out." Director Emma Givens hopes that "by inviting an audience to witness and share the struggles that are revealed in these stories of violence and the exuberance in overcoming them, we'll experience the deep humanity that Raymond's book evokes." The ensemble of performers includes Kaye Gary, Morgan Howard, Erica Hughes, Jamar Jones, and Bartley Mullin. Director Addie Barnhart believes that "the excellent storytellers we've cast will bring these stories to life in a theatrically captivating way." TICKET INFORMATIONVideos
