Through April 18 at Le Chat Noir
[Tickets $31 at www.CabaretLeChatNoir.com or 504 581 5812]

Our friends over at Theatre 13 present three final performances of this side-splitting musical extravaganza -- featuring our own Brian Peterson! Written by the creators of Howard Crabtree's Whoop Dee Doo!, this long-running off-Broadway show was honored with two Drama Desk awards including Best Musical Revue and two Outer Critics Circle awards including Best Off Broadway Musical. Don't miss it!

Sante South Wine Festival
April 24 • Jackson, Mississippi

It may sound strange for a theatre company to recommend a wine festival -- much less one that takes place a full state away. (Then again, knowing our love of road trips and good hooch, it may not be strange at all.) But we know we've got many supporters in Mississippi, and many more who enjoy good wine, and for all of y'all, Sante South is the place to go.

In addition to all the wine -- which comes from some amazing small labels -- there's a snazzy silent auction, and proceeds benefit the Alzheimers Association. If you're in the area, or if you're planning a road trip, you should seriously consider stopping by. There's lots more info at www.santesouth.com.

Running With Scissors presents...
Hedda Gabler
June 2010 at Le Chat Noir

Just so you know, this is NOT your great-great-grandmother's Hedda Gabler.

Running With Scissors is finding the funny in Henrik Ibsen's master work -- arguably the most important play written in the last century and a half. The story centers around one of the greatest heroines ever to walk a stage in granny boots: the one and only Hedda Gabler.

Newlywed Hedda is trapped like a trap in a trap, surrounded by a bumbling husband, a sex-crazed family friend, a nerdy high school rival, her suave former sweetheart, and a nosy aunt who's about to get what's coming to her. Put all those bodies in the same room, give them three bottles of good brandy and a couple of heirloom pistols, and you're staring down the barrel of a VERY bumpy night.

We'll have more details about Hedda coming soon, so stay tuned!
