Quinn Marcus is an uninhibited, hilarious Emerson College graduate whose comedic shorts led her to become the host of "Quinnterviews" on mtvU, where she has interviewed Tina Fey, Betty White, Paul Rudd, Tegan & Sara and the cast of ABC's "Happy Endings" and NBC's "Community." Quinn is a cast member of the popular MTV show, "Girl Code," where her commentary and humor has become iconic for young women all across the country. She has been profiled by Extra's Maria Menounos, Teen Vogue, Out, and The Boston Globe.

Her one-woman show, Chasing Ballerinas is coming to New Orleans for a two-day engagement at Tulane University. Chasing Ballerinas is a ridiculously enjoyable, brutally honest monologue about coming out as gay in the south. Quinn brings you to therapy sessions, awkward dates with boys, and regretful college parties. On this hilarious, heartfelt ride, Quinn explores what it means to really be yourself.

The intent behind producing this piece and presenting it in New Orleans is to invite audiences to examine what it means to be yourself and how to share individuality with others. The rehearsal process and performances in New Orleans are considered a first step towards preparing the monologue to tour college campuses nationally, so these themes can be examined with a larger diverse audience.

Marcus says, "The New Orleans performance is very exciting to me, because I get to take another look at the show after having moved to New York City and after being on a hit MTV show. I love that Chasing Ballerinas can evolve with me and I can't wait to show this new version to an audience."

In addition to performing Chasing Ballerinas, Quinn will be offering a special sneak peek of the independent short film, Alone With People, which is inspired by her monologue. Tickets allow audiences to watch Chasing Ballerinas and then view Alone with People immediately afterwards.

Performances and screenings will take place at Tulane University's Lupin Theater. This event is being presented by the Tulane University Department of Theatre and Dance and produced and directed by Alex Ates. All parties see this as an opportunity to allow young artists to incubate new work through engagement with the New Orleans cultural community. Marcus will be interacting with Tulane classes, high school arts classes, and students from all across the New Orleans metropolitan area.

Chasing Ballerinas will open on Friday, January 25th at 7pm with a 9pm performance following. All Friday tickets are pay-what-you-will at the Tulane box office door in the Dixon Hall Annex of Tulane's

campus. The final two performances will be on Saturday, January 26th at 7pm and 9pm. Ticket prices vary, with student rates available and can be purchased online or by calling the box office.
