Don your habits and grab your rulers, the Downtown Performing Arts Center and Curtain Up Productions will present the musical comedy Nunsense...A-men! for three special performances. Scheduled for Friday, February 12 at 7:30 and Saturday, February 13 and 2 pm and 7:30 pm, performances of Nunsense...A-men! will take place at the New Hope Arts Center located at 2 Stockton Avenue in New Hope, PA.

The original Nunsense opened off-Broadway in 1985 and became the second longest running off-Broadway show in musical theatre history, winning Outer Critic Circle Awards for Best Book, Best Music and Best Production. With music, lyrics and book by Dan Goggin, Nunsense...A-men! is all of the fun of the original Nunsense with one slight twist, the characters are portrayed by men! Join the Little Sisters of Hoboken as they put on a talent show to raise money for their order. It seems that Sister Julia, Child of God accidentally killed most of the residents of the convent and it's up to Mother Superior, Sr. Mary Hubert along with Sr. Robert Anne, Sr. Mary Regina, Sr. Mary Leo and Sr. Mary Amnesia to raise the funds to bury the dead Sisters. Nunsense...A-men! promises to entertain audiences of all ages and religions and have audiences rolling in the aisles.

The cast of Nunsense...A-men! includes Louis Palena, Jordan Brennan, David Whiteman, Michael Moeller and Damian Bartolacci. All five actors are known to area theatergoers for their performances at the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre over the past six summers. Louis Palena plays Sr. Mary Amnesia and was seen at the Open Air Theatre as Bobby Child in Crazy for You and most recently played the title character in Sweeney Todd. Michael Moeller portrays the Reverend Mother, Sr. Mary Hubert and appeared in the Open Air productions of Gypsy as Herbie and La Cage aux Folles as Zaza/Albin. Jordan Brennan plays Sr. Mary Leo and made audiences chuckle this past summer as Patsy, the King's faithful manservant in Monty Python's Spamalot while David Whiteman who portrayed King Arthur in the same show will play Sr. Mary Regina. David is known for his annual portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge in the Downtown Performing Arts Center's holiday production of A Christmas Carol. Rounding out the cast, Damian Bartolacci appears as Sr. Robert Anne and is seen annually as Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol.

The Curtain Up Productions and Downtown Performing Arts Center production of Nunsense...A-men! will be performed at the New Hope Arts Center located at 2 Stockton Avenue in New Hope, PA. Performances are scheduled for Friday, February 12 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, February 13 and 2 pm and 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children age 12 and under and $12 for seniors 65 and older. Tickets can be purchased online at www.downtownpac.com. All seats are general admission.
