On Friday, Oct. 16 at 8:00p.m., there will be an American Sign Language Interpretation of the rib-tickling George S. Kaufman comedy "The Butter and Egg Man" produced by East Lynne Theater Company, recently voted one of the Top Two Equity theaters in the state in the Discover Jersey Arts' "People's Choice Awards." Critics and audiences alike are praising the ensemble work of the cast of ten in this comic romp in the world of Broadway theater, directed by ELTC's artistic director Gayle Stahlhuth.

The theatrical ASL interpreters are Kathy Filippo and Gina Lanza, who have performed many times for ELTC. The process involves them seeing the production at least once, plus going over the script several times to figure out who will interpret which roles, and in many cases, come up with signage for unusual names and words.

Tickets are $28 general admission; $23 for seniors and those with disabilities and their
support companions; and $13 for full-time students. Children ages 12 and under are always
free. The location is The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., Cape May, where the company is in residence. "The Butter and Egg Man" runs every Wednesday through Saturday through October 24 only. For information and reservations, call 609-884-5898 or visit www.eastlynnetheater.org. To make a reservation using a credit card, call 866-280-9211.

For four years, ELTC has participated in Theatre Communication Group's "Free Night of Theater" program, joining over 600 theater companies in over 100 cities from coast to coast, offering free tickets from October 15-31. Realizing that there may be many patrons who cannot afford to purchase tickets, ELTC is offering a substantial portion of its available tickets, at no-charge on Oct. 21 and 22. "Tales of the Victorians," ELTC's popular story-reading series at tea-time, will have its final performance on Saturday, October 10, at 4:00p.m. at the Cliveden Inn, 709 Columbia Ave. The performer is Michele LaRue. Tickets are only $10 and ages 12 and under are free.

The production of "The Butter and Egg Man" would not be possible without season sponsors Curran Investment Management, Aleathea's Restaurant, La Mer Beachfront Inn, and funding received through grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the New Jersey Department of State, Division of Travel and Tourism, and the generosity of many patrons.
