Coming to the Durham Performing Arts Center from January 3rd-8th 2017 is the national touring production of the Tony Award-Winning musical, An American in Paris.

I recently had the great pleasure of talking to the show's associate musical director, Brad Gardner. He is also a pianist, orchestrator, and vocal coach. His additional credits include: TEETH (Playwrights Horizons, MTF: Music Director), Oliver! (Arena Stage: associate MD), Fiddler on the Roof (Arena Stage: associate MD), The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes (Goodspeed: Music Director), Sense & Sensibility (NY readings and Denver Center: assistant conductor), and Jasper in Deadland (Prospect Theatre Company: associate MD). Other recent music directing and playing credits include Off- Broadway's smash hit Silence! The Musical, My Fair Lady (Arena Stage), and 9 to 5 (North Shore Music Theatre). Recent concert credits include Peter Pan and The Music Man, both with the Transport Theatre Group. He has also been a rehearsal pianist for Broadway's The Addams Family and Marvin Hamlisch's The Nutty Professor at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. He also regularly donates his time as a music director and pianist to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, most recently having been an orchestrator and the assistant music director on Broadway Backwards 2014, 2015 and 2016.
