Nashville audiences will be treated to a stage adaptation of one of the internet's biggest pop-culture phenomenon as ACT 1 presents a Fann-made, Permission Granted, Unofficial production of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, running November 18-December 3 at The Darkhorse Theatre.

Created for the web in 2008, Dr. Horrible is a musical comedy created by Joss Whedon, Zac Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. The tragicomedy was produced exclusively for Internet distribution. The team wrote the musical to create something small and inexpensive, yet professionally done, in a way that would circumvent the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike. Since its debut in 2008, Dr. Horrible has achieved critical acclaim, as well as, a devoted cult following.

Adapted from the screenplay and directed by Anne-Geri' Fann, the production is set in Los Angeles and tells the story of Dr. Horrible (played by Patrick Kramer), an aspiring super villain; Captain Hammer (Daniel Vincent), his nemesis; and Penny (Lindsay Terrizzi Hess), their shared love interest. Also featured in the Dr. Horrible cast are Eric Ventress, April Hardcastle-Miles, L.T. Kirk, JoNathan Burgess, Memory Strong, Jama Bowen, and Michael Welch.

In the offbeat musical, Billy (a wannabe super baddie who goes by the name of "Dr. Horrible") films video blogs in which he responds to emails, gives his viewers updates on his evil schemes and sometimes mentions his infatuation with a girl who doesn't know he exists. When he is delivered a letter from Bad Horse, a real legendary super villain, he learns that his application for entry into the Evil League of Evil won't even be considered if a heinous crime is not included in the application. As Horrible prepares for a memorable wrongdoing he has to consider the consequences, not to mention his haughty dolt nemesis who has a penchant for happy accidents, including a relationship with a girl they both love.

"What ensues will be revealed at Darkhorse Theater where ACT 1 gives Nashville six horribly evil performances of the cult classic," reads a press release from ACT 1.
