The Lyceum Theatre transforms into the Grand Old Opry for Always...Patsy Cline September 10 - 18.

Always...Patsy Cline is based on the true story of Patsy Cline's friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger and contains 27 of her best-known tunes. In 1961 when Cline was in Houston for a show, Seger and her buddies arrived about an hour-and-a-half early and, by coincidence, met Cline who was traveling alone. They struck up an instant friendship that lasted until Cline's untimely death in a plane crash in 1963. The relationship, which began as fan worship evolved into one of mutual respect. It is the kind of relationship that many fans would like to have with their heroes.

Kara Boyer makes her Lyceum Theatre debut in the role of Patsy Cline. Ms. Boyer's favorite roles include the Narrator in Joseph..., Violet in Violet, Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense, and Harriet Smith in the off-Broadway production of Jane Austen's Emma. She has had the honor of singing at City Center with Carole King and Bernadette Peters. She also recently recorded her first album, Out of the Woods, which is available on itunes. When not onstage, Kara teaches voice and piano lessons at her private studio in New York City.

Louise Seger will be played by Kat Singleton. Lyceum Theatre audiences last saw Kat in The Diary of Anne Frank playing Edith Frank. Some of her other favorite roles are Evelyn in Kindertransport, which won a Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Ensemble, What's Wrong with this Picture, both at the New Jewish Theatre in St Louis, and Mrs. Banks in Barefoot in the Park, Amanda in Glass Menagerie, and Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest at the Lyceum. Her directing credits at Arrow Rock include last summer's Red, White and Tuna, Bus Stop, Don't Dress For Dinner, and Proof. When not at Arrow Rock, Kat teaches Acting and Improvisation at Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts.

Always...Patsy Cline is directed by David Hemsley Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell returns to the Lyceum having previously appeared in Pump Boys & Dinettes and Hairspray and has previously directed Nuncrackers, Nunsense, Annie, BIG!(The Musical), Smoke On The Mountain Homecoming, How To Succeed In Business... and Bye, Bye Birdie.
