Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy is thrilled to present the beloved modern classic The Neverending Story later this month. Adventure-lovers of all ages are invited to join lonely Bastian on his journey through the pages of a book to the land of Fantastica where werewolves, centaurs and luck dragons abound. The sparkling tale surrounds orphan Atreyu's quest to save the childlike empress Fantastica and, ultimately, himself. Performances are scheduled March 24 at 5:00 pm, March 25 at 4:00 pm and March 26 at 11:00 am at the Bangor Opera House.

"In The Neverending Story, we see what happens when an ordinary boy is called to be extraordinarily brave," says Director of Education Amy Roeder. "The show is jam-packed with action, adventure and mystical creatures, but at its core is a shy boy hiding in the attic of his school. This show is for the Bastian in all of us!"

Thirty-four young performers comprise the cast, ranging in age from 4 to 15, including: Rhianna Altvater, Christopher Barrett, Isla Barrington, Lily Barrington, Frances Bayless, Tala Bayless, Walker Bayless, Carmella Bear, Nevaeh Bell, Lauren Bilancia, Eva Black, Piper Clement, Sophia Crespo, Brooklyn Davis, Viola Davis, Emma Dryer Neiman, Kai Grosjean, Nia Guevarra, Nevaeh Howell, Derrick Johnson, Maia Johnson, Miranda Larson, Cami Layman, Clementine Mislang, Emily Murch, Madison Nicholas, Daniel Rutledge, Joseph Rutledge, Jessica Sass, Asa Sinclair Steele, Lilie Sites, Byron Sockalexis and Ada Steele. Resident teaching artist Ben Layman is directing.

Tickets are $8 for students and $12 for adults. Discounted rates are available for groups. To purchase, call (207) 942-3333 or visit www.penobscottheatre.org.
