Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy is now registering youths aged 4-15 for its spring session, which will culminate in a full, technically supported production of Beverly Cleary's Ramona Quimby. Classes will begin March 28 and run every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 for students aged 4-6 and from 4:30 to 6:30for students aged 7-15. The students will perform Ramona Quimby at the historic Bangor Opera House, May 19-21. No experience is necessary and all registrants will be cast. Session registration will close March 30.

Ramona Quimby is the rambunctious, unpredictable and utterly lovable heroine of the show based on the beloved Ramona books by Beverly Cleary. Ramona favorites Beezus, Howie and Mrs. Griggs come along for the ride in this fast-paced romp down Klickitat Street.

"This exuberant show is bursting with life, making it the perfect choice for spring," said Amy Roeder, Penobscot Theatre Company's director of education. "The script is chock full of wonderful roles and there's even a chance for a Boy Scout/Girl Scout dance battle!"

Beverly Cleary's Ramona Quimby is produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois. Ramona is the final play in the Dramatic Academy's 2016-2017 after-school season, following The Neverending Story in the winter and The Stinky Cheese Man in the fall.
