Ogunquit Playhouse's NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT Receives Three IRNE Awards

The Ogunquit Playhouse received three Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards for the 2015 production of NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT at the April 11th ceremony held in Brookline, Massachusetts.

The Playhouse was honored with six IRNE Award nominations overall, winning in the Large Theatre category for Best Choreography (Peggy Hickey) and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical (James Beaman). Brenda Vaccaro was also among the honorees receiving a special "Theatre Hero" award for stepping in for Valerie Harper during the run of NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT.

"We are truly grateful for the continued recognition by the IRNE committee members and are honored to be to be recognized among our peers including such industry leaders as A.R.T., the Huntington, and North Shore Music Theatre. We are extremely proud of everyone who made it possible for NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT to be recognized by the IRNE committee and send heartfelt congratulations to James, Peggy and Brenda for their awards," stated Executive Artistic Director Bradford Kenney.

The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards were founded by Beverly Creasey of the Journal Newspapers and Larry Stark of Theater Mirror in 1997. The IRNE Award ceremony is New England's largest theater arts recognition program, recognizing the work of playwrights, designers, actors, choreographers and directors among small, mid-size, small and fringe theater companies throughout the previous year.

The Ogunquit Playhouse, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization listed on the National Historic Register, is located on Route One in Ogunquit, Maine and produces the finest Broadway musicals each season with performances Tuesday through Sunday, from May 18 to November 6.
