Ogunquit Playhouse and Video Creations Win 2014 Telly Award for 'Come for Play, Stay for the Day'

The Ogunquit Playhouse, America's Foremost Summer Theatre, together with Video Creations, has been named a Silver winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards for a group tour promotional video titled "Come for Play, Stay for the Day."

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. The 35th Annual Telly Awards received nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.

The Ogunquit Playhouse developed a promotional video with Video Creations of Kennebunk, Maine to attract group tours to the town of Ogunquit and enjoy the wonderful restaurants, shops and the exclusive Broadway shows produced at the historic Ogunquit Playhouse. Cheryl Farley of the Ogunquit Playhouse collaborated with Video Creations President and Founder, Blake Baldwin on the concept, script and editing of the unique promotional video. Blake's design for the video includes photos and video clips of the local area and The Ogunquit Playhouse's award winning shows appearing within post card images on a spinning rack. The award winning piece has been shown at industry trade shows, on The Ogunquit Playhouse's and Video Creations' websites, on YouTube channels and has been shared with group tour operators throughout the country by the Ogunquit Playhouse group tour sales team.

A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work - entries do not compete against each other -- rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Silver Telly, their highest honor.
