Tickets on Sale Today for Actors Theatre of Louisville's 2015-16 Season

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein announce that single tickets for Actors Theatre of Louisville's 2015-16 Season will go on sale today, July 25, 2015 at 10 a.m.

To coincide with the single ticket on sale Actors Theatre will host an open house from 10 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. on Saturday, July 25 and Wednesday, July 29. The event will feature behind-the-scenes tours, lighting demonstrations, prop displays and interactive activities for the whole family.

Furthermore, the first 100 in-person transactions on Saturday, July 25 at the Actors Theatre Box Office will receive a complimentary copy of the book Peter and the Starcatcher by Ridley Pearson and Dave Barry.

On Saturday, July 25 and Wednesday, July 29, Actors Theatre will host behind-the-scene tours, running on the hour and half hour beginning at 10.30 a.m., and a lighting demonstration at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Tours are free to Louisville Cultural Pass Holders or $5 general admission and $3 for individuals aged 12 and under. Tour tickets are limited. To purchase or reserve tickets in advance, call Actors Theatre Box Office at 502.584.1205. Tickets will also be available on-site subject to availability. Lighting demonstrations will take place at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. in the Victor Jory Theatre during both open houses. Admission to these demonstrations is free and tickets are not required.

The 2015-2016 Season features:

• August Wilson's moving drama Seven Guitars, September 1- September 20, 2015. Set in 1948, this lyrical chapter in August Wilson's renowned Century Cycle follows Floyd Barton, a recently-jailed blues musician striving to make a comeback. As Floyd's friends and neighbors gather in a Pittsburgh backyard, Wilson spins a rich tale from the play's seven voices.

• Rebecca Gilman's smart and absorbing drama, Luna Gale directed by Les Waters, October 6 - 25, 2015. When teenage addicts are accused of neglecting their newborn daughter, a veteran social worker, Caroline, must rely on her instincts to grapple with an increasingly complex case. A powerful, haunting drama about the difficulty of knowing how to do good in the world.

• Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore, November 17-December 13, 2015. Chicago theatre renegades The Hypocrites playfully reimagine the popular classic as a slumber party full of pajama-clad sailors. Replete with guitars, ukuleles, and reversed gender roles, this comic tale of love on the high seas comes to life as you've never seen it before.

• Amy Herzog's highly lauded comedic drama, 4000 MILES January 5-January 31, 2016. When free-spirited, 20-something Leo crashes at his grandmother's apartment after an epic cross-country bike trip, the two bond over their attempts to navigate the complexities of life, love, and loss. A funny, intimate look at the unexpected connections we can make on the road to self-acceptance.

• Multi-award winning hit show Peter and the Starcatcher directed by Associate Artistic Director Meredith McDonough, January 26-February 17, 2016. In this swashbuckling grown-up prequel to Peter Pan, a dozen brilliant actors playing pirates, mermaids-and of course, our favorite Lost Boys-set out for an adventure filled with ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of theatrical storytelling.

• Two of Louisville's favorite family traditions: Fifth Third Bank's Dracula, September 9-November 1, 2015, and A Christmas Carol, November 24-December 23, 2015.

• The 40th Humana Festival of New American Plays, March 2-April 10, 2016. Premiering up to ten groundbreaking, brand new works by some of the American theatre's most talented writers. Full lineup to be announced in November, 2015.

Single tickets for the 2015-2016 Season will be available at 502.584.1205, in-person at 316 West Main Street, Louisville, Ky 40202, or by visiting ActorsTheatre.org beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25. Prices start at $25. In addition, through August 1st, youth tickets priced at $15 for those aged 14 and under are available for Fifth Third Bank's Dracula and A Christmas Carol for select performances with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket.

Season Ticket Packages are also on sale. Season Ticket Holders receive up to 50% off regular single ticket prices, with 7-play Brown Forman Series Season Ticket Packages starting at just $130. Season Ticket Holders also have access to pre-sale tickets for Dracula and A Christmas Carol at 20% off, which are not on sale to the public until July. Additional benefits also include flexible ticket exchanges, parking discounts and invitations to special behind-the-scenes events. Discounted packages are also available for seniors, students, educators and individuals 35 years of age and under.
