The Kentucky Center's Whitney Hall has consistently landed on the list of top selling venues in Pollstar, the only worldwide publication covering the concert and tour industry. This year's list of Top 100 Theatre Venues worldwide includes The Kentucky Center at number 20.

In a mid-year ranking report based on ticket sales, Whitney Hall reported selling 134,224 tickets sold between January 1 and June 30, 2016. This places Whitney Hall just behind the historic Nashville's Rhyman Auditorium (19), and ahead of Chicago's Chicago Theatre (25), New York's legendary Radio City Music Hall (66) and Los Angeles' famed Shrine Auditorium (79). Number one on the list was Mexico City's Auditorio Nacional with 545,987 tickets sold.

"The community has embraced Whitney Hall as a world class theatre for many years," said Kim Baker, president of The Kentucky Center. "This recognition demonstrates the passion and enthusiasm Kentucky audiences have for the performing arts."

Pollstar is the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry. It supplies in-depth information to every professional concert promoter, booking agent, artist manager, facility executive and every other entity involved in the live entertainment business. It produces a weekly print magazine for professionals and publishes that information daily to the web.

Audiences can see for themselves what makes Whitney Hall special when country legend Vince Gill performs there on September 9. For more information about that show and others at Whitney Hall, visit kentuckycenter.org.
