New Stage Theatre will conclude their 2010-2011 season with a new production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The popular Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical will play at the Jane Reid-Petty Theatre Center from May 24 - June 5.

Straight from the Old Testament, the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors is retold amidst an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll. This Broadway hit has entertained audiences for more than 35 years! Joseph has 12 brothers who don't think so highly of him. They "dispose" of him, thinking they have served themselves well by killing him, but what they don't know turns the story back around on them. Through an adventure to Egypt and encounters with Potiphar and Pharaoh, Joseph is heralded as a hero. The brothers' then turn for help from a brother they no longer recognize. Does Joseph forgive and forget or reign down well-deserved wrath?
