Kamea Dance, Israel Ballet, Ballet Hispanico & More Set for 2016-17 Haifa Dance Series

The best local dance groups will participate in Haifa Dance Series' upcoming season: Batsheva Dance Company, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC), Kamea Dance Company, the Israel Ballet Company and Ballet Hispanico - the Latino colorful Dance Company is coming all the way from New York to Haifa for an evening of Spanish/Latino American dancing and music, in collaboration with leading choreographers and musicians from Spain, Columbia, Puerto Rico and Cuba.

Additionally, Gai Behar and Sharon Eyal's appraised international L-E-V Company will bring a new show named OCD LOVE which combines avant-garde dancing with the pop and dance music worlds.

The following performances will all take place at the Haifa Auditorium:

White Swan - The Israel Ballet

Swan Lake, from the classic to the contemporary. A huge two acts production with 30 ballet dancers. Lev Ivanov's eternal choreography in a fascinating encounter with the original choreography by the Greek international choreographer, Andonis Foniadakis's, which creates a rare twist of the ballet.

Act one: The original version of Swan Lake's second act. Choreography: Lev Ivanov, Music: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Act two: A contrast to act one, an original choreography for the Israel Ballet with a contemporary and loose interpretation of the original production. Choreography: Andonis Foniadakis, Music: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Arrangement: Julian Tari.

New York 's Ballet Hispanico - An Evening of Hispanic-American Dance and Music

Making their Israel debut- exciting dancers performing a variety of Latino, stylish and contemporary dancing, by choreographers and musicians from Spain, Columbia, USA and Cuba. Come and meet choreographers Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Pedro Ruiz and Eduardo Vilaro, allow yourself to enjoy an "El Beso" to a classic Spanish music, to be swept away by the rhythms of the Latino jazz of the "Danzón" and with the lusciousness of the male dance in the "Sombrerisimo" with a Buena Vista and swing music, and jump in your seats in a "Club Havana" to the mambo, son, cha-cha-cha, bolero, rumba and conga beats by Cuban singer Celia Cruz, inspired by her country and life story.

OCD Love - Gai Behar and Sharon Eyal's International L-E-V Company

Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar's latest creation, OCD Love, is a dark and soul penetrating journey, filled with passion, suspense and power, with the sounds of DJ Ori Lichtik's beating techno music. The piece is about love and being out of sync which keeps bringing challenges to love and life.

The very successful show was produced by five prestigious festivals in Europe and North America and will be presented in the 2016-17 season of festivals around the world.

Neverland - Kamea Dance Company

World premiered on March 2016, an original piece created by the company's Artistic Director, Tamir Ginz, to an original music by Avi Belleli. The two are once again working together following the success of their previous creation, Bamidbar Devarim (Desert of Things). Performed by 12 of the company's dancers, the creation is a fantasy inspired by current events and it takes place somewhere, in the place that is over The Edge... in the following day. Maybe it's already here?

Horses in the Sky - Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC)

KCDC presents Horses in the Sky, by the company's Artistic Director Rami Be'er.

Horses in the Sky is a labor that moves in the space of motion, in a flux, in empty spaces, colour stains and moments of viewing, gazing, touching and smelling a memory in time and space.
