This Wednesday, 16th of July at 9pm, Stephen Kelly & the Headhunted will be performing at IMRO award-winning venue Coughlan's, Douglas Street, Cork City, admission €10

Comprising of some of Cork's top jazz musicians, the Headhunted, led by drummer/percussionist Stephen Kelly will performing a unique night of music, as their repertoire will consist entirely of music composed by drummers!

One of the hardest working vocalists on the music scene in Ireland, Gemma Sugrue, will be performing songs written by the great drummer Chick Webb, the man who launched the career of Ella Fitzgerald back in the 1930's.

There will also be the music of drummers such as Brian Blade (Wayne Shorter), Peter Erskine (Weather Report) and Bill Stewart (John Scofield) as well as original music composed by Stephen Kelly.

The Headhunted are: Gemma Sugrue (vocals) Paul Dunlea (Trombone) Hugh Dillon (Guitar) Phill Collins (Keyboard) Deirdre Frost (bass) and Stephen Kelly (drums/leader).

Stephen is the sub-principal percussionist with the RTE Concert Orchestra and lecturer of Percussion at the Cork School of Music. He has performed with jazz musicians such as John Scofield, Kurt Elling, Georgie Fame, Vince Mendoza & Michael Buckley.
