Gilded Balloon are proud to present the debut full-length solo show from Comedian Andy de la Tour at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Only two human activities happen in front of a brick wall.

Standing at a mic telling jokes or being shot by firing squad.

After a twenty year pause from stand-up, Andy de la Tour went to New York last year to rediscover his comedy roots. This is the story of what happened. Andy was last in Edinburgh 30 years ago with Rik Mayall and Ben Elton. Now he's back, older but not much wiser.

As an actor, Andy has made many appearances on television and stage, including the world premiere of Harold Pinter's Celebration (Almeida Theatre and New York) and the most recent revival of Pinter's No Man's Land at the RNT.

Andy wrote and starred in his own TV play, Clem for Channel 4, and he has written extensively for various TV series, including episodes of Lovejoy, Boon, Lifeboats, Cats Eyes, Tecx, many episodes of the first series of Peak Practice and two episodes of Kavanagh Q.C. He devised and wrote his own series, The Vet for Ikona Films/BBC. Recently, he has written an episode of Lewis for TV and a romantic comedy, Finders Keepers, for Ten Alps Drama. Apart from directing his own plays, he has directed Shady Business by Robin Hawdon at the Mill at Sonning, two national tours of Simon Williams' Nobody's Perfect for Paul Farrah Productions and a national tour of Williams' sequel play, Nobody's Fool.. Andy directed Love From A Stranger by Agatha Christie at the Mill at Sonning in spring 2010. He returned to the Mill to direct Room Service Included for the Mill at Sonning last year.
