On Monday, October 24, 2016 at 7 p.m., Wordsmyth Theater Company will produce a reading of END OF EARTH by Lia Romeo at Main Street Theater. The reading is free and refreshments will be provided.

ENDS OF THE EARTH explores the anxieties associated with modern life - environmental, social, racial - and asks hard questions about what kind of world - if any - we're leaving for the next generation.

Dennis and Julie are a successful, happily married couple in their thirties who live just outside Chicago with their adorable dog, Frankie, and have never wanted children. But then, suddenly, Dennis does. What will the consequences be for their marriage?... And what does it mean to bring a child into a world where the summers are getting hotter, the winters are getting colder, and coyotes have taken up residence in the backyard?

"I was interested in the character of Julie as a woman who got married but didn't want children. She wrestled with her impending motherhood. I just thought it gave a different perspective on women and motherhood," says Michelle James, the ENDS OF EARTH Director.
