Stage Door puts its own spin on the Tennessee Williams classic "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." The movie, starring Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor in their prime as Brick, the prized son, and Maggie, "the cat," brought this Southern story to the forefront of American attention. The show tells the story of Big Daddy and his family around his birthday in southern Mississippi. Big Daddy is dying, but he doesn't know it, only the rest of the family is aware. Brick is Big Daddy's favorite son, and he is an alcoholic, possibly closeted, disappointment. Maggie is Brick's long suffering, beautiful wife, desperate to win back his affection. The play is full of complicated, flawed, extremely human characters that Tennessee Williams writes so well, set in the sticky, hot American south.

There will be a special "Pay What You Can" Performance on Thursday, August 22nd at 8:00pm; donations of at least $5 are suggested.

Stage Door Inc. is a local, community theatre located inside the Pasadena Town Square Mall. Voted Best Family Entertainment Venue in Pasadena for the last two years in a row by the Pasadena Citizen readers, Stage Door is a true "community" theater. They partner with the Pasadena Strawberry Festival.

The remainder of the 2013 Season is as follows (audience voted returning shows are designated with a *): The Rocky Horror Show; Evil Dead: The Musical*; and Nuncrackers.
