Photo Flash: Pangea's OUT OF AFRICA Raises Over $100,000

The Pangea Network, an international nonprofit dedicated to empowering young individuals with education, hosted its annual "Out of Africa" celebration this past Saturday, September 10, which raised more than $100,000 in donations enabling the nonprofit to reach its yearly goal. Additionally, creator and star of The Last Man on Earth, former Saturday Night Live actor and Pangea ambassador Will Forte served as emcee throughout the night to a sold out room. Held at Robard's Steakhouse in The Woodlands, guests of the 2016 Out of Africa celebration experienced life-changing stories of the women, children and communities impacted by Pangea. The event also hosted an auction with exclusive items like a backstage visit to the filming of Last Man on Earth in Los Angeles and a Crested Butte ski vacation as well as entertainment by magician Ben Jackson and music from African artists.

"The Pangea Network team works tirelessly throughout the year to make a substantial difference in the lives of individuals at home and abroad. The Out of Africa celebration is a culmination of this hard work, gratitude of our supporters and a night filled with great food and entertainment. I'm proud of what we have accomplished so far in 2016 and what is to come for The Pangea Network," said Founder and Executive Director Nicole Minor.

All proceeds from the 2016 Out of Africa event will further benefit Pangea's mission of empowering and helping individuals overcome challenges both at home and abroad. This is done through the expansion of their Young Women's Leadership Conference to Houston, Austin and Dallas, which inspires young female leaders to become global citizens and community mentors, and the growth of their Kenyan Women's Network programs, which focuses on basic business and life skills courses, revolving business grants, as well as first-aid training in poverty-stricken communities.
