In the last half of the 19th Century no figure played a more crucial role in the evolution of music than violinist Joseph Joachim. At the beginning of the 21st century, Daniel Hope celebrates Joachim's genius by exploring some of the works he inspired--including those composed by Brahms, Clara Schumann, Mendelssohn and Grieg.

Through a string of acclaimed recordings on the Deutsche Grammophon label and sold out concerts in the world's major music capitals, violinist Daniel Hope is fast becoming known as an artist unafraid of providing a fresh view of the classics. A festival director and educator (he is professor of violin at the Royal Academy of Music in London) Daniel Hope is also a violinist of uncommon skill and insight who relishes musical discovery.
