Shake your tail feathers to Final Mix. Bid on unique auction items, including Playhouse one-of-a-kind opportunities. A Hitchcock Shadow Booth and suspenseful surprises await you! For 11 years, Central Iowans have come together to celebrate the Des Moines Community Playhouse at the institution's Hollywood Halloween costume party. The event, which benefits the Kate Goldman Children's Theatre and other educational programs conducted by The Playhouse, has long been a highlight of the fall social calendar.

The fun and frights begin at 7:30 pm on Friday, October, 25th at West End Architectural Salvage (22 SW 9th Street). A young professional ticket rate is available for $60.00 (standard tickets, $100.00), and includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, hosted beer and wine and music. A VIP Party, for an additional $25, will be held before the event at Chequers Lounge. Visit www.dmplayhouse.com to reserve tickets today.

Costumes at the event have ranged from the typical vampire and witch to Hurricane Katrina and Edward Scissorhands and his shrub. Don't know what to wear? RAYGUN in the Historic East Village is offering a limited edition Hollywood Halloween T-shirt with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Playhouse.

Unique silent auction items include vacation packages such as a week in San Francisco; a painting by Van Holmgren, a photograph by Ben Easter, and a sculpture by Julie McCullough; and VIP tickets to Winefest, DMACC's Fall Gourmet Dinner Series, and Blue Man Group. The Playhouse is also auctioning walk-on roles and backstage experiences.
