Due to high ticket demand, the Des Moines Community Playhouse has now added three performances of "LES MISERABLES." The added performances are 1:00 PM, Saturday, Mar. 29; 1:00 PM, Saturday, Apr. 5; and 1:00 PM, Saturday, Apr. 12. There are also a limited number of tickets available for the 9:30 AM, Tuesday, Apr. 1, performance. Tickets for this and the originally scheduled performances, through Apr. 13, can be purchased at dmplayhouse.com, at the Playhouse box office, and by phone at 515-277-6261.

"LES MISERABLES" is the story of convict Jean Valjean (Steve Berry), now free, who dedicates his life to raising the orphan girl Cosette. Policeman Javert (Maxwell Schaeffer) obsesses over finding Valjean for breaking his parole. Revolution is in the air and a student uprising is inevitable. Strong men are willing to sacrifice everything for their ideals and the people they love. Epic and uplifting, "Les Miz" is the most popular musical in the world. And now it's at the Playhouse.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
