"Harvey is the funniest character that you'll never see," says PPP spokeswoman Rosanne Pack. "He is the pivotal character in the famous Mary Chase comedy, and is a sociable and sensible six and a half foot rabbit, called a pooka," she adds. He is also the best friend of Elwood Dowd. Harvey's only major eccentricity is that he is invisible to everyone except for Elwood.

Directed by Linda Killion, "Harvey" follows the unseen adventures of that tall Pooka as Elwood earnestly attempts to endear him to his family and friends while he ambles in and out of his favorite adult beverage establishments and local social gatherings. When Elwood, Harvey in tow, crashes his sister Veta's swanky ladies' tea, he has pushed her beyond patience for the Pooka. She makes the decision to commit her beloved brother to a sanitarium for a lifelong visit.

There is confusion over who really belongs in the sanitarium - brother or sister, or perhaps even the doctors and staff of Chumley's Rest? By the final curtain, there's no telling who all might be seeing a six and a half foot rabbit named "Harvey."

"Harvey" is being produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

Possum Point Players is supported, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
