When Possum Point Players open "Into the Woods" on Friday, Sept. 30, the cast members will be from many different Delaware communities just as there are many different fairy tales woven into one award-winning Stephen Sondheim musical. The show, set for Sept. 30, Oct. 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9 features actors from ten communities from central Delaware to the southern tip of the state.

Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. All seats are reserved and tickets are $23 for adults and $22 for students and senior citizens. To purchase tickets, call 302-856-4560, or buy on line at www.possumpointplayers.org.

Cast members from Georgetown include Sarah Rose, Devon Lynch, Abby Ruark, Danny Keenan, Alex Ferree and Elizabeth Holz; from Rehoboth Beach are Max Dick, Cheryl Graves, Steven Dow, Ashlie Workman and Abby Chesney. Donna de Kuyper and Steve Givens are from Lewes and Loraine Steinhoff and Janice Jester are from Milford. Rounding out the cast are Kyra Cutsail, Laurel, Dan Carney, Ocean Pines, Carolyn Robinson, Millsboro, Hunter Graves, Newark and Amy Sheridan, Frankford.

Milford residents Kenney Workman, director, and Stacey Hartman, music director, assembled the versatile cast and are rehearsing them through snatches of Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, The Big Bad Wolf and other fractured fairy tales. Sondheim combines farfetched versions of the stories everyone loved as children, and they are all held together with songs, romance and special appearances from the likes of a witch, a cow and a spirit or two.

Everyone has wishes in "Into the Woods," but no one can imagine what might really happen if all those wishes are granted. Cinderella wishes to go to the King's Festival, the baker and his wife wish for a child, even young Jack has wishes for his dear cow to give milk. The haughty and not so nice stepsisters wish for smaller feet and Rapunzel could use a lot of conditioner. "Into the Woods" is suitable for all audiences.

Into the Woods is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI; 421 West 54th Street; New York, NY 10019; Phone: 212-541-4684; Fax: 212-397-4684; http://www.mtishows.com/.
