Clear Space Receives Grant from Mid-Del Charitable Foundation

On November 16, 2015, at the Harrington Raceway and Casino, Clear Space Theatre Company received a grant from the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation. The Foundation, developed to consolidate the charitable undertakings of The Delaware State Fair, Inc. and Harrington Raceway, Inc., supports Delaware-based organizations and charitable, educational, and scientific endeavors which address the wide range of issues, including: health and human services, the arts, agriculture, education, and the environment.

"We are grateful to the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation for making this grant award," says Wesley Paulson, Executive Director of Clear Space Theatre in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Paulson added, "Funds from the grant will be used to support our education programs for children and youth. Our performing arts education programs prepare the stars of tomorrow for careers in the arts." Clear Space Board of Directors Chair, Christopher Berg, adds "We are so appreciative of the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation's confidence and support of our mission. The talents and abilities the youth gain through our arts education programming are skills which will aid them not only on stage, but throughout their lives. These include discipline, confidence, teamwork and critical thinking, to name a few."

Members of the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation are proud to award the 27 organizations with funding that will support the community, and provide more opportunities for Delaware citizens. Secretary Bill DiMondi says "We are thankful for all that these organizations do and are happy to provide these grants knowing they will have a lasting impact locally and throughout the State of Delaware."

"We know these organizations work hard to reach countless people in our community." said Howell Wallace, President of the Mid-Del Charitable Foundation. "We support their missions and hope that our grants aid in their efforts to further that reach and continue to set a positive example helping those in need. We appreciate all that they do and are thankful to be able to contribute to their continued success."

Organizations awarded grants included C.E.R.T.S., Inc., Cancer Support Community Delaware, Caring Hearts Helping Hands, Inc., CHEER, Inc., City of Harrington Parks & Recreation, Clear Space Theatre Company, Delaware 4-H Foundation, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc., Delaware Ducks Unlimited - Greenwing Event, Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation, Delaware Guidance Services for Children and Youth, Inc., Delaware Hospice Inc., DVFA Foundation, Frederica Spring Creek Lions Club, Greenwood Police Department, Harrington Police Department, Harrington Sunshine 4-H Club, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, Mental Health Association in Delaware, Milford Senior Center, Modern Maturity Center, Inc., Reading Assist Institute (RAI), Rehoboth Art League, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, Santa's Workshop/"Bookaneers" Milford School District, The CENTER for Therapeutic and Educational Riding, Inc. and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 850. Organizations were awarded grants to help with costs geared towards their specific programming.
