Photo Flash: THE MATCHMAKER Opens Tonight with MainStage Irving-Las Colinas

MainStage Irving-Las Colinas closes its 2015-16 Light the Lights! season with Thornton Wilder's classic comedy, THE MATCHMAKER. The production will open tonight, July 22, and run through August 6 at the Irving Arts Center's Dupree Theater (3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75062). BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy merchant in 19th Century Yonkers, NY, decides to take a wife and employs a matchmaker, Mrs. Dolly Levi. Dolly subsequently becomes involved with two of Vandergelder's clerks, several lovely ladies, and the headwaiter at an expensive restaurant where this swift farce runs headlong into hilarious complications. After everyone gets straightened out romantically, will Mr. Vandergelder find himself affianced to the astute Dolly Levi herself? The warhorse play that inspired Hello, Dolly!

THE MATCHMAKER stars Sherry Etzel (Dolly Levi), James West (Horace Vandergelder), Hayden Evans(Cornelius Hackl), Tyler Knabe (Barnaby Tucker), Marisa Duran (Ermengarde), Mary Bongfeldt (Gertrude), andMegan Hildebrand (Minnie Fay). The cast also includes Jake Blakeman, Corinne Christopher, Clayton Cunningham, Jennifer Obeney, Debbie Pyle, Bobby Rochelle and David Smith.

THE MATCHMAKER production team includes Director/Sound Designer Dave Schmidt, Producers Debbie Fleckand Dane Tuttle, Stage Manager Evelyn Hall, Lighting Designer Kenneth Farnsworth, Scenic Designer Michele Harvey, Costume Designer Tory Padden, Multi Media-Visual Designer Rich Frohlich, Sound Board/Video OperatorRyan Brazil, and Properties Designer Jo Anne Hull.
