The Maverick Theater in Downtown Fullerton announces the Orange County Premiere of THE TOXIC AVENGER musical. You'd be hard-pressed to find another hero as unlikely as Toxie, the toxic waste-tainted mutant with superhero strength and a heart bigger than Newark. In the outrageous off-Broadway sensation THE TOXIC AVENGER, you'll see this weakling-turned-warrior valiantly wage a righteous battle for the cleanup of the New Jersey Turnpike. Add in a charming love story, a dash of corruption and stiletto-wearing backup singers and you have an uproarious rock musical that will have you falling in "Hot Toxic Love." Winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical, this mashup of B-movies, environmentalism and campy musicals, was written by Joe DiPietro (Memphis) and Bon Jovi's David Bryan.

THE TOXIC AVENGER, Directed by Anthony Galleran, opens April 1st and runs through May 7th with performances on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 6:00 p.m. starting April 10th. Tickets are $28. Students with a current ID get in for $15. Tickets may be purchased online at www.mavericktheater.com or by calling 714-526-7070. The Maverick Theater is located at 110B E. Walnut, Fullerton, CA 92832, across from the Amtrak station in historic Downtown Fullerton.
