Laguna Playhouse to Welcome Rockapella This August

Laguna Playhouse Artistic Director Ann E. Wareham is thrilled to announce ROCKAPELLA with their latest show HITS LIKE YOU NEVER HEARD. Comments Wareham, "I've been looking for an opportunity to bring these guys to Laguna Playhouse ever since I arrived. Summer in Laguna Beach is the perfect time. They've been called 'Impressive' and 'Pure Entertainment'. I call them 'Perfection!'". As fathers of the modern a cappella sound, ROCKAPELLA has long been known for groundbreaking original music, and inventive takes on familiar favorites. Now they've created an entire show of classic, massive hits from Elvis, Macklemore, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pharrell Williams, The Temptations, Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash, Earth Wind & Fire, Prince, Sam Cooke, and many more. ROCKAPELLA -HITS LIKE YOU NEVER HEARD will begin performances on Wednesday, August 10 and will run through Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

"There's nothing in the way between us and the audience. It's human music; exciting and organic, with nothing missing," says ROCKAPELLA'Sbeatboxer Jeff Thacher. "No instruments, no tracks, no mirrors. We make it rock and make it interesting," explains Scott Leonard, the group's chief songwriter, arranger and an architect of their ever-evolving and imitated dynamic sound.

Since the early '90's when they first achieved national television fame on PBS's "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?," ROCKAPELLA has toured the globe and provided a funky powerful soundtrack to several generations of vocal music fans, while keeping it all fresh along the way. With buckets of catchy original pop songs, and complete contemporary revisions of sparkling Motown, pop, and soul classics, this group has always been the one to watch. Now they're better than ever!

Performances will be Wednesdays through Fridays at 7:30pm; Saturdays at 2pm & 7:30pm; Sundays at 1pm.
