TheatreWorks New Milford, in association with the New York Theatre Barn (The Barn), will be conducting a workshop of Sticks + Stones, a new musical by Joe Barros and Vince Peterson that explores bullying through the eyes of children. This program will be presented as part of the TWKids Season and enrollment is open to children ages 8-18.

Commissioned by the San Francisco Arts Education Project, Sticks + Stones is an episodic kaleidoscope that uses interviews, song, movement, multimedia, and theatrical storytelling to educate, inspire, and spark change about bullying. The new musical asks the question: If everyone is being bullied, where are all the bullies?

Participants will be given the unique opportunity to experience the process of developing a new musical. They will workshop and perform from the original musical and will also collaborate with the writers on new material written specifically to develop during this workshop. The workshop will be directed by Erin Loucks who has worked professionally as an actor all over the country, including New Milford Theatreworks' hit production of The Last Five Years. The musical director is Christopher Rich.

Rehearsal intensives will take place Monday afternoons from 4:30-6:00 PM at Theatreworks New Milford and begin on Monday, April 20th, 2015. Additional rehearsals will take place the last week of May. Performances open to the public will take place the weekend of May 29th and 30th, 2015. Visit http://www.theatreworks.us/kids.php to register and for more information. TheatreWorks New Milford is located at 5 Brookside Avenue in New Milford, Connecticut.
