The Metropolitan Opera's Peabody and Emmy Award-winning seriesThe Met: Live in HDis in its fifth season and features 11 live transmissions which are currently broadcast in 40 countries around the world. Included in these performances are specially produced features that offer audiences a look behind the scenes: live interviews with singers, directors, designers, and stage technicians, as well as documentaries and other short features.

The Warner Theatre is thrilled to be offering its patrons the opportunity to attend these productions in the theatre's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. The season will include six live simulcasts and five encore performances. Each live simulcast will include a pre-opera lecture given by opera expert Nunzio DeFilippis. Mr.De Filippis has a degree with honors in political science from Queens College and 43 doctoral credits from CUNY Graduate Center. A businessman for 35 years, he began teaching opera at the age of 51 to share his lifelong passion for the subject. He has taught Opera history, Italian Opera, an introduction to Verdi, the Bel Canto Operas, and Mozart's Operatic Works, to name a few. His work as a volunteer teacher was featured in the New York Times and he has been recognized by New York's Governor George Pataki.

Tickets for these presentations are $20, $18 (for Seniors & Students with I.D.) and $10 for Children 13 & under.Tickets are on sale for Met Members now, for Warner Members and Warner Opera Guild members on August 26 and for the general public on August 29.
