The Northeast Children's Theatre Company (NCTC), a Westport-based nonprofit specializing in professional theatre for families and young audiences, will kick-off its inaugural season of programming with a new musical, "The Tortoise And The Hare," based on Aesop's fable. The classic tale is retold like never before as a contemporary musical comedy, featuring a book by Andrew Barbato with music & lyrics by Lesley DeSantis and Andrew Barbato.

At Creekwood Elementary, the day of the big race is approaching. Harvey Hare has always ruled the roost, but this year there is a new competitor: Tommy Tortoise. This story follows Harvey, Tommy, and Tommy's friend, Cindy Snail, as they prepare for the annual Creekwood Forest race and discover the true meaning of friendship and teamwork. "The Tortoise And The Hare" was developed by NCTC and premiered in early 2012 to sold-out audiences at Curtain Call's Kweskin Theatre in Stamford.

"The Tortoise And The Hare" runs as a limited two-week engagement from Saturday, February 2 through Sunday, February 10 at Fairfield Theatre Company's StageOne in downtown Fairfield. This show is best for Ages 6+/Grades 1+. Tickets are priced at $18 for Adults and $12 for Children. For tickets, call 203-259-1036 or visit www.NCTCompany.org.
