For an evening of jazz, wine and art, no one does it better than The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m.
All the favorite music of the '40s -- "Moonlight Serenade", "A String of Pearls", "Chattanooga Choo-Choo", "Pennsylvania 6-5000", "At Last", "Tuxedo Junction", "In The Mood", "Stardust", "Sunrise Serenade", "St. Louis Blues", "Someone To Watch Over Me", "Rhapsody in Blue", "The Nearness of You" -- plus more modern songs performed in the Miller style such as "Over the Rainbow" and "September Morn" will be the set list for the 18-member jazz orchestra, now under the baton of Music Director/vocalist Nick Hilscher. The enduring songs that are still so popular today and have been covered by numerous famous artists are part of the vast Glenn Miller Orchestra library.
