On September 6, the Ridgefield Theater Barn opens their 2013-2014 Season with this bracing and critically acclaimed play. August: Osage County is a portrait of the dysfunctional American family at its finest-and absolute worst. When the patriarch of the Weston clan disappears one hot summer night, the family reunites at the Oklahoma homestead, where long-held secrets are unflinchingly and uproariously revealed. The three-act, mammoth of a play combines epic tragedy with black comedy, dramatizing three generations of unfulfilled dreams and leaving not one of its thirteen characters unscathed. Check out a first look below!

The production, directed by David Bass and produced by Sherry Asch, will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm, through October 5, with Sunday matinees September 15, 22 and 29 at 3pm. There will be no performances September 13 and 14 in observance of Yom Kippur.

In 2008, August: Osage County, by Tracy Letts, swept the awards, winning the Tony, Pulitzer, Drama Desk. NY Drama Critics' Circle, and Outer Critics' Circle Awards for Best Play. The New York Times hailed it as, "the most exciting new American play Broadway has seen in years."

Tickets are $24/adults and $20/students and seniors. Seating is cabaret style, and doors open one hour prior to curtain. Audiences are encouraged to bring food and drink to enjoy before the show and during intermission. The Ridgefield Theater Barn is located at 37 Halpin Lane.
