ON BROADWAY Host Stuart Brown to Host Pre-Show Chat at the Palace Theater

Dr. Stuart Brown, Director of Student Services at the UConn-Waterbury Campus, a devotee of off-Broadway and Broadway productions for over 45 years and host of the radio program "On Broadway" heard over WRTC-FM, 89.3, on Sundays from 5:30-6:30PM for over 20 years, will be offering his unique insights and backstage knowledge to Palace Theater patrons who attend the Sunday matinee performances of the Webster Broadway series. This free added benefit is a new feature currently available only before the Sunday matinee performance.

Beginning with the Sunday, October 9th performance of Dirty Dancing, from 11:45am - 12:30 pm, Brown who is also a theater critic affiliated with the Connecticut Critics Circle and the Outer Critics Circle will present an informal talk covering the show's backstory and how an iconic movie became a Broadway musical. Brown with his engaging manner, will also allow time for Q & A with the audience. The presentation will be held in the theater's Poli Club.

Ticket holders to the Sunday matinee performance interested in attending must call the venue's Box 203.346.2000.to reserve a spot, as space is limited .

Brown's passion for theater currently has another unique outlet in an exhibit that is on display at the UCONN Waterbury campus library entitled "Presidents and Broadway."

How Presidents have been portrayed in Off-Broadway and Broadway plays and musicals is the theme of the exhibit that includes Playbills from New York stage productions, as well as CDs and LPs of original cast recordings from Brown's personal collection curated over the last forty-five years.. The exhibit runs through November 11, 2016.
