International literary figure Sir Hugo has it all: wealth, fame, luxury...and a scandalous secret. When an old flame arrives with a stack of embarrassing love letters, he must confront his past, his long-suffering wife, and most of all, the consequences of living a lie. Longtime Artistic Director Mark Lamos returns to Hartford Stage to direct Coward's witty and bittersweet comedy, the final play of his illustrious career. (Recommended for ages 18+ for brief nudity and adult themes.)

Sir Noël Peirce Coward was an English playwright, composer, director, actor and singer known for his wit, flamboyance, and what Time Magazine called "a sense of personal style, a combination of cheek and chic, pose and poise." His most famous works include the plays Hay Fever, Design for Living, Private Lives, and Blithe Spirit; the films Cavalcade and This Happy Breed; and the musicals Sail Away and The Girl Who Came to Supper.

For more information about College Night or to purchase tickets, please call the Hartford Stage Box Office at (860) 527-5151 and mention COLLEGE NIGHT to purchase your $10 tickets.
