Gray And Serotsky Star In OLIVER At The Edgerton Center 8/7-9

The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Sacred Heart University announces Broadway actors Kevin Gray and Aaron Serotsky for the starring roles in its upcoming production of Oliver! on August 7-8 & 9 following the last session of the Summer Musical Theatre Workshops.
Kevin Gray, a resident of Fairfield, Connecticut, will play the role of Fagin.

Mr. Gray is currently appearing with the symphony tour Three Phantoms In Concert. He recently starred as Scar in the National Tour of Disney's The Lion King, directed by Julie Taymor. Mr. Gray also toured the United Kingdom as The King in The King And I, reprising his role from the Broadway revival of Rogers and Hammerstein's classic, in which he became only the third actor in history to play the role on Broadway.

He starred as Pontius Pilate in the Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, and in Harold Prince's production of Showboat as Gaylord Ravenal. He toured as the star of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Music of the Night, and appeared as The Engineer in the Los Angeles and Toronto productions of Miss Saigon, receiving the Dora Mavor Moore and Dramalogue awards for his performance. He was the youngest actor to play the title role in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and on the U.S. National Tour, receiving The Carbonelle Award for his performance as The Phantom. Before that, he played Raoul in Phantom on Broadway and created the role of Valentin in the world premiere of the musical Kiss Of The Spider Woman.

Playing the role of Bill Sykes will be Aaron Serotsky, who has just completed a year and a half run in the original company of Broadway's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County. His Off-Broadway appearances include Frankenstein and What Goes Around. He has toured the country with the First National Tour of Titanic, and has worked at such leading American regional theaters as the Denver Center, Seattle Rep, George Street Playhouse, Alliance Company, Arizona Theatre Company and Northlight, where he received a Joseph Jefferson nomination.
Cast in the role of Oliver is Patrick Agonito of Fairfield, Connecticut with Peter Charney of Orange cast as the Artful Dodger.

All other children's roles in have been cast from the participants in the Summer Theatre Musical Workshops, which are designed to encourage the development of musical theatre performance skills (solo & ensemble acting, singing, movement) in young performers ages 8-14, culminating in a free live performance at the end of each session.

Oliver! will be directed Jerry Goehring, with choreography by Correy West and musical direction by Leo P. Carusone.

Session I of the Summer Musical Theatre Workshops is currently underway from 9am-3pm weekdays through July 18:
Session II gets underway July 20 and continues through July 31 from 9am-3pm weekdays.
Performances of Oliver! are:
Friday, August 7 at 7pm
Saturday, August 8 at 7pm and
Sunday, August 9 at 3pm
on the stage of The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts.
The Oliver! cast also features adults from throughout Fairfield County and students from Sacred Heart University.
Connecticut Family Theatre and The Edgerton Center at Sacred Heart University are co-producers of this classic musical.

The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, on the campus of Sacred Heart University, is located at 5151 Park Avenue in Fairfield, Connecticut just minutes from exit 47 of the Merritt Parkway.
Box Office Hours are Mondays through Fridays from 12noon-4pm. The Box Office will be open 2 hours prior to each performance.
