Pierre-Laurent Aimard made his debut at the age of twenty with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and in 1973 won first prize at the International Olivier Messiaen competition. In the largest Theatre presents a concert with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, György Kurtág and György Ligeti.
Aimard has been characterized by show a repertoire which is particularly dedicated to contemporary music. He has collaborated with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Seiji Ozawa, Zubin Mehta, Charles Dutoit, André Previn, Andrew Davis and David Robertson.
He has been soloist in several premieres of works like Repons, of Pierre Boulez and Karlheinz Stockhausen's Klavierstück XIV . He has also performed works by younger composers such as George Benjamin and Marco Stroppa. Laurent Aimard, piano.
