At the age of 16 he obtained the first prize in piano in San Sebastian, in the Spanish Basque country race. Subsequently received instruction in the Superior Conservatory of music of Paris, school Reina Sofia in Madrid and the Marshall Academy in Barcelona with Alicia de Larrocha. After receiving awards in international piano competitions, Zabaleta started his concert activity which has lead her to play with a large number of Spanish orchestras including the Basque country, RTVE, Comunidad de Madrid, as with the English Chamber Orchestra, London and Berlin orchestras and collaborating with directors such as Colin Davies, Daniele Gatti, Sergiu ComissionaHarry Christophers, and others. For presentations of House colleagues have been the cellist Asier Polo, with whom he recorded for BBK and whose company made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as the pianist Miguel Borges Coelho and the Ysaie Quartet. He is currently a teacher at Musikene, Center of music of the Basque country and directed the Marshall Academy in 2010, by direct appointment of Alicia de Larrocha.
