New Edgecliff Theatre, Cincinnati's actors theater since 1998, is excited to announce its new, permanent Northside location at 1662 Blue Rock Street in what was St. Pius X Catholic Church. Craft beer company, Urban Artifact, now owns the property, is brewing onsite, and this past May opened a taproom in the church undercroft. With a long term lease now in place with Urban Artifact, New Edgecliff Theatre will open its 2015-2016 season in what was the church sanctuary.

New Edgecliff lost its former performance space in Columbia Tusculum in 2012, but thanks to a tenacious board and dedicated staff, it continued a regular schedule of shows. "Though we have been vagabonds for a few years, we maintained our reputation of providing powerful performances using local professionals. Doing so was and will continue to be the backbone of who we are" said Jim Stump, Producing Artistic Director. "We are ecstatic to join the Northside community. The neighborhood's eclectic blend of artists, activists and urban families is the perfect fit for us. We look forward to being a permanent and contributing fixture in Northside's resurgence."

Located two minutes from I-74 and two blocks west of Hoffner Park, the new location allows for parking, pre- and post-show refreshments thanks to Urban Artifact's taproom and is an easy walk to a number of other Northside hot spots. The layout of the old sanctuary naturally lends itself to performance theater and its size provides for flexibility with sets, lighting etc. In addition, the lease maps out a plan for continued structural and esthetic improvements. Stump wraps it up by saying, "This is a win-win for everyone; the folks at Urban Artifact, our patrons and particularly the surrounding community. We've landed in a great spot and are ready to produce some great theater."

Next season's schedule includes: Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, performing September 17- October 3; The Santaland Diaries will be on stage December 3-19 and The Shape of Things, will run April 14-30, 2016. For more information please visit: http://newedgecliff.com.
