THE SOUND OF SILENCE
Regular Run dates: November 16 - December 17
• Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. • Saturdays at 7 p.m.

Originally written in 1940 by Jean Cocteau as a showcase for Edith Piaf, The Sound of Silence is a one women tour de force for actress Noémi Schlosser. Written and performed with wit and passion in a multimedia setting, The Sound of Silence tells the story of a svelte nightclub singer confronting and berating the unfaithful lover who sits silently on stage, dozing behind his newspaper before he coolly departs for another rendezvous with his ugly, aging mistress. Piaf's 1940 performance of this piece is legendary. Schlosser assumes the Piaf mantle and adds her own nuances in this new 2011 premiere.
DATE ME!

Regular Run Dates: November 17 - December 17
• Fridays at 7:30 p.m. • Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.

DATE ME! , written by Noémi Schlosser, introduces you to two dateless girlfriends (Schlosser and Michelle Adrienne Slonim) who find themselves marooned at the bar of yet another wedding reception. In an almost stand up
comedy way, boldly and honestly, they give a peek into their not so rated PG world reminiscing about their escapades and disappointments, their near-sex experiences and their too often mating and dating disasters. Also starring Brandon Galatz or Josh Odor.

ABOUT NOÉMI SCHLOSSER

Noémi Schlosser, graduated in 2001 from the Antwerp Drama school of Belgium, where she studied under the famous Flemish director Ivo van Hove. Since then, she has appeared on stage in a variety or roles from traditional musicals ("Nancy," Oliver Twist, Margot, Yours, Anne) to experimental performances (The Smile Off Your Face, winner of the Edinburgh Festival in 2007).

In 2004, in Belgium, she founded her own collective, SALOMEE SPEELT, meaning, "Salome is Playing." Schlosser acts, writes, directs and produces shows and has been honored with grants and support from the Flemish Government for Moscow-New York, Alice and Franny and Zooey. She is also proud to have been able to present and perform SALOMEE SPEELT productions in three languages (French, Flemish, and English) and on stages in Europe, Africa and New York.

ABOUT SALOMEE SPEELT

SALOMEE SPEELT is a "fixed-fluid" collective founded by Noémi Schlosser. The idea for this company arose from the need to bring various branches of art and people from a variety of artistic milieus together. The company works to surprise both themselves and their audiences with fresh new approaches, perspectives, characters and virtuosity. For every presentation they seek out the best possible actors, musicians, coaches and designer, regardless of their own theatrical or artistic comfort zones.

SALOMEE SPEELT makes no attempt to stick to any particular style, neither with respect to texts nor themes. The ability to play repertory pieces in addition to their own scripts and to bring many kinds of material together is their greatest strength and it is this characteristic that they want to show off to the outside world.
