Giant Cherry Productions will bring its signature production The Glass Protégé to Chicago theater audiences. Writer Dylan Costello first connected with the Chicago theater community when his play Hello Norma Jeane was one of five finalists in Pride Films and Plays' 2011 Great Gay Play and Musical Contest. Dylan flew to Chicago from London for the enhanced staged reading of Hello Norma Jeane in 2012 and was so impressed by the work of director John Nasca on the piece that he introduced John to his newest play The Glass Protégé, and a co-production was soon born. Giant Cherry has always been impressed with the quality and reputation of Chicago theater, seeing it as a valuable and extremely worthwhile market that easily rivals New York. Having the chance to bring this production to the Windy City only highlights the importance of the exciting Chicago theater scene and the many talented creatives that inhabit it, for the reputation of this very meaningful theater community extends far beyond the confines of the United States.

The Glass Protégé premiered for a five-week run in London, England in 2010 under its original title Secret Boulevard and was a huge hit. To this day, it still stands as the most successful production ever staged at London's Courtyard Theatre. After its run in Chicago, the play will return to London for a new four-week run at the Park Theatre.
