First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83) is proud to present a special two-night only performance of the most timely shows it has ever produced.

THE AMISH PROJECT is a fictional exploration of the 2006 Nickel Mines schoolhouse shooting in a Pennsylvania Amish community, and the path of forgiveness and compassion forged in its wake. This one-woman play, featuring artistic associate Lydia Berger Gray, explores the aftermath of this tragedy through the eyes of 7 different characters, ranging from one of the victims to the wife of the gunman. This timely and thought-provoking work is a show not to be missed.

THE AMISH PROJECT made its original debut at the New York International Fringe Festival in the summer of 2008 and instantly generated buzz in the theatre community. The Amish Project went on to a workshop production at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City, and in 2009 officially opened Off-Broadway at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater to rave reviews.

Sound Design by Christopher Kriz (Jeff winner for The Turn of the Screw), Lighting Design by Greg Freeman (Side Show at Porchlight Music Theatre and Jeeves at Sea and Laughter on the 23rd Floor at First Folio Theatre).

THE AMISH PROJECT runs April 11 and 12 at 8 PM. All tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling the box office at 630-986-8067 or online at www.firstfolio.org.
