Artful Women to Welcome Alicia Marcos Birong This November

Raue Center's Artful Women is excited to welcome celebrated author and life coach Alicia Marcos Birong with "Raising Strong Daughters: An Interactive Tea Party" at 3 p.m. on November 13, 2016.

Alicia Marcos Birong, author of "Changing the Chatter: Help Your Daughter Look Beyond the Mirror for Self-Esteem," discusses the importance of raising a daughter with strong self-esteem. The building blocks of a woman's confidence are cemented before they are 14 years old! Join Ms. Birong for an open discussion, activities to encourage improved self-esteem and a book signing.

"Raising Strong Daughters: An Interactive Tea Party" will feature tea, lemonade and cookies courtesy of Le Petite Marche served on beautiful vintage China. Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase their teacup and saucer for $5 following the event. Proceeds will go toward scholarships for Alicia Marcos Birong's ChatterGirls program, which assists young girls in developing life skills for becoming confident, strong young women.

The tea party will also include exciting giveaways for mothers and daughters alike! Two lucky girls will receive gift bags courtesy of Marvin's Toy Store and Ms. Birong will give away a signed copy of "Changing the Chatter: Help Your Daughter Look Beyond the Mirror for Self-Esteem" to one lucky mother!

With a passion for improving and empowering the lives of all individuals, Ms. Birong is the founder of Changing the Chatter: Celebrating ChatterGirls and Guided Choices. She has worked for over 30 years as a life coach, therapist and hypnotherapist and holds a Masters Degree in Counseling from Loyola University in Chicago.

Tickets are $25 per pair, $5 for each additional child and $15 for each additional adult. Tickets may be purchased online at rauecenter.org or via the Box Office at 815.356.9212 or 26 N. Williams Street in downtown Crystal Lake. The recommended minimum age for this event is 8 years old.

Raue Center's Artful Women series was founded in 2013 by Rebecca Heisler at the suggestion of Raue Center executive director Richard Kuranda. Regina Belt-Daniels serves as committee chair. Committee members include women of all ages and walks of life with a passion for the arts. Artful Women is dedicated to exploring current issues in a format that will enrich, inspire, educate and entertain the community. Artful Women is proudly sponsored by the Northwest Herald.
