American Theater Company (ATC) honors its late artistic director PJ Paparelli and kicks off Season 31 with a Legacy Celebration fundraiser on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The event features a performance of Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar at Goodman Theatre plus a pre-show reception with Disgraced director Kimberly Senior. Disgraced made its world premiere at ATC in 2012 under Senior's direction before going on to a successful Broadway run and winning the Pulitzer Prize.

The Legacy Celebration begins with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres starting at 5:30 p.m. at Per Se Cafe at the offices of Bryan Cave law firm (161 N. Clark Street, 43rd floor), followed by a performance of Disgraced at 7:30 p.m. at Goodman Theatre (170 N. Dearborn Street). A limited number of tickets are now available at $150. To purchase tickets or for more information, contact ATC Development Associate Emma Palermo at legacy@atcweb.org or 773.409.4125 ext. 102 or visit www.atcweb.org.

"PJ had an uncanny ability to discover and nourish the country's top playwrights and to provide intensive development opportunities for their new works," says Interim Artistic Director Bonnie Metzgar. "This event celebrates his legacy and supports the continuation of programs he established."

The first production of ATC's Season 31 is the co-world premiere of Thomas Bradshaw's Fulfillment with The Flea Theater in New York. The production plays at ATC Nov. 6-Dec. 13, 2015, under the direction of Ethan McSweeny.
